- Do I need to reserve in advance?
- Reservations are strongly recommended, especially in the high season. You can request a time through this website, by WhatsApp or by phone.
- What should I wear inside the hammam?
- Modest swimwear is standard for international visitors. A pestemal is provided and is worn over your swimwear.
- What is provided when I arrive?
- A traditional pestemal, towels and use of the changing area, cooling room and hot room.
- How is privacy arranged?
- Ürgüp Hamam is a single historic bathhouse, so we protect privacy through the way we schedule rather than by dividing the day. Guests who do not know one another are never placed in the bath at the same time. Inside the hammam there are private rooms, closed at the entrance by a separator, and treatments are given in those rooms. Each private room takes two people, which also makes it the natural choice for couples.
- Can I request a female or male therapist?
- Yes. Female therapists attend female guests and male therapists attend male guests, and you are welcome to state a preference when you reserve. Please share it at the time of booking so our team can confirm the arrangement for your slot.
- Who are your therapists?
- Our team brings together Turkish therapists and therapists who came to us from Bali, Indonesia. Each is a certified specialist in their craft, and they continue to train while they are with us — in occupational safety, first aid and health. Their certificates can be seen at the hammam.
- Can couples visit together?
- Small groups are welcome. Please indicate the number of guests when reserving and we will confirm the arrangement.
- Is the bathhouse accessible?
- Ürgüp Hamam is a historic building. Please contact us to discuss access before your visit.
- When was the building built?
- The bathhouse was built between 1726 and 1727 and restored between 1900 and 1902. It remains in use today.
