- What is a traditional Turkish hammam?
- A hammam is a bathing house built around a central heated marble platform, with domed rooms, arches and marble basins around it. The rhythm of the visit — warmth, water, rest — is one of the oldest bathing traditions in Anatolia. See the bathhouse room by room.
- Do I need to reserve in advance?
- Yes, a reservation is recommended, especially in the high season: the bathhouse welcomes up to 8 guests at a time. You can book by WhatsApp, telephone, email or the form on this website.
- What is included in the price?
- Every hammam package includes unlimited time in the hot room and steam room, a full-body scrub, a traditional foam wash, a face mask and refreshments; the peştemal and towels are ready for you. Keyf-i Hammam adds body care and a foam massage, and Sultan adds a private suite and an extended foam massage. Every package includes free hotel pickup and return anywhere in Cappadocia (Pir-u Pak: for 2 or more guests).
- What should I wear inside the hammam?
- Swimwear is recommended. A peştemal is provided and worn over it. Bring a change of clothes for afterwards.
- How long does a visit take?
- The treatment time is 50, 60, and 70 minutes, depending on the package. Your time in the hot room and steam room is unlimited and comes on top of it. Massages last 30, 60, and 90 minutes.
- How is privacy arranged?
- Ürgüp Hamam is a single historic bathhouse, so privacy comes from the way we plan bookings: guests who do not know each other never share the bath at the same time. Treatments take place in private rooms with their own entrance, each for two guests.
- Can couples visit together?
- Yes. Our private rooms are made for two, which makes the bathhouse a natural choice for couples. Couples can also book two massages side by side in the same room.
- Can I choose a female or male therapist?
- Yes. You choose the gender of your therapist when you book. Female and male attendants and therapists are on duty every day.
- Who are your therapists?
- Our team brings together Turkish therapists and therapists who came to us from Bali, Indonesia. Each is a certified specialist, and they keep training while they are with us — in occupational safety, first aid and health. Their certificates can be seen at the hammam.
- How does the complimentary transfer work?
- Every package includes complimentary hotel pickup and return anywhere in Cappadocia (Pir-u Pak: for 2 or more guests). Massages from €80 include it too; for shorter massages it is free for two or more guests. Share your hotel and preferred time when you book.
- When was the building built?
- Ürgüp Hamam was built in 1726–1727 and restored in 1900–1902. It still works as a Turkish bath today.
- Is Ürgüp Hamam the same as Alaaddin Hamam?
- No. They are two different historic baths run by the same team: Ürgüp Hamam in the centre of Ürgüp was built in 1726–1727, and Alaaddin Hamam in Avanos was built in 1202 and restored in 1726. Alaaddin Hamam is larger and suits families and groups; Ürgüp Hamam is small and suits couples.
- What are your opening hours?
- Open every day 09:00–23:00 · we welcome our last guests at 23:00.
- How do I pay for my visit?
- Reserve by WhatsApp — pay at the hammam. Share your preferred date and time and our team confirms your visit; you pay at reception when you arrive. Credit cards are accepted, and cash in Turkish lira, euros, US dollars or pounds sterling.
- Can children come to the hammam?
- Yes. Children under 16 are welcome with a parent and receive a 50% discount, applied at the hammam.
- How accessible is the entrance?
- Ürgüp Hamam is a historic building, and its entrance has four or five steps. Tell us when you book and we will plan your visit with you.
- Can I take photos inside?
- To keep the bath private for every guest, photos and videos are not taken inside the hammam.
- Where exactly is the hammam?

- That depends on where you stay and what you want from the visit. - When is the best time to visit a hammam in Cappadocia?
- The evening, after a day in the valleys. Most guests come between late afternoon and closing time, and a walk through Ürgüp before or after the bath makes an easy evening.
